Evans leads Red Raiders past Bengals 91-58

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Texas Tech clinched its fifth win of the season on Friday, defeating Idaho State 91-58 behind Keenan Evans' 16 points in an on-campus game of the Cancun Challenge.

Niem Stevenson scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half, Anthony Livingston and Zac Smith added eight apiece, and Texas Tech led 40-29 at halftime.

Evans scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half and made five assists. Smith finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Texas Tech (5-1), which held a 31-17 rebound advantage, including 9-2 on offensive boards.

Justin Gray and Matthew Temple scored 11 each and the Red Raiders shot 61.4 percent from the floor (35 of 57) compared with 45.2 percent (19 of 42) for the Bengals, who committed 17 turnovers.

Gary Chivichyan led Idaho State (0-6) with 12 points and made four of seven 3-pointers.
