ESPN sets 4th hoops marathon

ESPN will have its fourth annual 24-hour marathon and this year it will include two women's games, one with Tennessee coach Pat Summitt.

The cable network announced Thursday that the around-the-clock coverage will include 17 men's games and the two women's games starting at midnight EST Nov. 15.

Summitt announced Tuesday that she had been diagnosed with early onset dementia - the Alzheimer's type. The Naismith Hall of Famer will start her 38th season with the Lady Volunteers, who host Miami in the State Farm Women's Tip-Off Classic in the marathon.

The featured men's games are Duke-Michigan State and Kentucky-Kansas in the State Farm Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden.

The marathon starts with Northern Iowa at Saint Mary's and that will be followed by South Alabama at Hawaii.

The popular 6 a.m. slot will be Drexel at Rider and that will be followed by morning games of Morehead State at College of Charleston and Kent State at West Virginia.

Capping the marathon will be a first-round game in the NIT Season Tip-Off that Stanford will host against an opponent to be determined.

The other women's game will be Louisville at defending national champion Texas A&M, starting at 4 p.m.
