Jaron Jones scored 30 points to lead Eastern Kentucky over North Carolina Central 75-62 Tuesday night.

With the game tied at 27 at halftime, the Colonels (5-5) outscored the Eagles 48-35 in the second half. Jones was perfect from the field (5 of 5) and the free-throw line (6 of 6) in the second half, leading the way with 17 points.

Eastern Kentucky led 61-58 with 5:19 remaining, and outscored the Eagles 12-2 over the next 3:34. Jones' free throw capped the spurt for a 73-60 lead with 1:37 left.

The Colonels scored 22 points off 22 North Carolina Central turnovers, while giving it away 14 times themselves.

D'Mitri Riggs added 17 points and seven steals for Eastern Kentucky, which finished with 14 takeaways.

Landon Clement scored 15 points to lead the Eagles (5-4), who snapped a four-game winning streak. Dominique Sutton chipped in 14 points for North Carolina Central.
