Duquesne ends Saint Louis' first-to-worst season, 61-55

NEW YORK (AP) Micah Mason had 19 points and eight rebounds and Duquesne beat Saint Louis 61-55 in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 tournament Wednesday night to end the Billikens' first-to-worst season.

The 11th-seeded Dukes (12-18) advanced to face No. 6 George Washington on Thursday at Barclays Center.

Last-place Saint Louis (11-21), which was regular-season A-10 champ last year, finished with five straight losses.

Derrick Colter scored seven points in two minutes to put Duquesne up 47-44 with 8:18 left in the second half.

The Dukes and Billikens traded 3-pointers and the lead late in the second half.

Davell Roby gave Saint Louis a 52-51 lead with 4:17 remaining on a corner 3. L.G. Gill responded for Duquesne and Roby came right back with another 3 to make it 55-54 with 3:38 left.

Gill's foul-line jumper put the Dukes up 58-55 with 1:48 left and they held on for the win.
