Duquesne cruises past Bluefield State 91-51

PITTSBURGH (AP) Derrick Colter scored a career-high 26 points to lead Duquesne to a 91-51 victory over Bluefield State in a season opener on Saturday.

Colter made 7 of 8 3-point attempts - also a career high for the junior - one short of the school record.

Micah Mason added 16 points and nine assists and Eric James had 14 points for the Dukes.

Duquesne hit 35 of 64 shots for 54.7 percent, shooting even better from 3-point range at 56 percent (14 of 25). The Dukes dominated the boards 48-30.

The Division II Big Blues led 8-4 before Duquesne went on a 20-4 run. The Dukes led 52-25 at halftime and were up by as many 41 in the second half.

Bluefield State was led by Dajon Reno, who scored 22 points, and Mark Durgan, who added 11.
