Duke Women's Basketball Finalizes 2016-17 Schedule
The Duke Women’s Basketball program recently announced their official schedule for the upcoming season.
The Blue Devils have officially released their conference and non-conference women’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season. The team will kick off the year with their annual Blue/White Scrimmage on October 30th at 2 pm.
Duke Women’s Basketball will begin the regular season on the road to face Liberty on November 11th. They will host Penn in their home opener on the 13th. The Blue Devils will have a difficult schedule this year, competing against eight NCAA Tournament teams from last season including two one-seeds (Notre Dame and South Carolina) and a Final Four participant (Syracuse). The entire women’s basketball schedule can be found here.
Duke will be led by senior Oderah Chidom and All-ACC redshirt junior Rebecca Greenwell this season. The team will also add junior guard Lexie Brown, who is eligible to play this season after transferring to Duke last year. Brown was an All-Big Ten performer and helped lead Maryland to the Final Four in 2015.
The Blue Devils had a disappointing season last year that ended in an investigation of the program after going 20-12 and 8-8 in the ACC, missing the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Duke will look to rebound this year and make it back to the postseason with returning healthy players and some new additions to the team.
