Dixson, Matthews led UIC over Trinity Christian 84-45 (Dec 23, 2017)

CHICAGO (AP) Dikembe Dixson scored a season-high 25 points, 17 in the first half, and Dominique Matthews added 20, also a season best, to lead UIC to an 84-45 win over Trinity Christian on Saturday.

Matthews hit a 3-pointer 13 seconds into the game and the Flames led the rest of the way. Dixson scored 10 points in a 17-2 run and later ended the half with a steal and a dunk for a 45-23 lead. Two Matthews 3-pointers and a Dixon dunk gave UIC a 67-34 bulge with 11 1/2 minutes remaining.

Dixson added seven rebounds while Matthews tied his career-best with six 3-pointers. Clint Robinson added 13 points and led with eight rebounds while Tai Odiase scored 11 points.

The Flames (5-8) snapped a two-game losing streak in their final nonconference game.

Caleb Jonkman scored 15 points to lead the Trolls, members of the NAIA, who played the game as an exhibition.
