Detroit defeats Rochester (Mich.) 77-54

DETROIT (AP) Anton Wilson had 20 points, four rebounds and two steals to lead Detroit to a 77-54 win over Rochester (Mich.) to start off the season on Friday night.

Juwan Howard Jr. finished with 16 points and five rebounds, shooting 6 for 13 to contribute to Detroit shooting 53.7 percent from the field as a team. Wilson hit four 3-pointers, while shooting 7 of 8 from the field

Nick Tatu had 21 points, on 7-for-11 shooting, including making 7 of 10 3-pointers, three of them coming in the final 2 minutes of the game. Paris Pereira had eight points and five boards for Rochester.

Detroit went up 7-5 early in the first half, and then pulled ahead in lieu of an 18-4 run, including six points from Howard. Detroit held a 45-20 halftime lead.
