Denver pulls away from North Dakota State 70-59

DENVER (AP) C.J. Bobbitt scored 16 points and Denver pulled away from North Dakota State 70-59 on Saturday.

A close game throughout, NDSU used a 7-point spurt - including a 3-point play by A.J. Jacobson - to go up one, 49-48, with 7:07 to go. From that point, Denver outscored the Bison 22-10, hitting 10 consecutive free throws, to win going away.

Bobbitt was 6 of 11 from the field with six rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Pioneers (15-14, 7-9 Summit). Marcus Byrd and Joe Rosga scored 14 points apiece, and Byrd grabbed seven rebounds. Denver shot over 52 percent and hit 10 of 17 from beyond the arc.

North Dakota State (18-12, 8-8) was led by Kory Brown with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting with six rebounds. Jacobson finished with 12 points and Dexter Werner had 11.
