Davidson too much for Campbell, 86-51

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Jake Belford scored a career-high 20 points and Davidson defeated Campbell 86-51 on Tuesday night.

Belford made 9 of 12 shots with the Wildcats (2-0) sinking 36 of 64 for 56.3 percent. That included 10 of 21 from 3-point range for 47.6 percent. Jordan Barham, who made all seven of his shots, added 14 points.

Kyre' Hamer scored 16 points and D.J. Mason 15 for the Camels (1-1). Campbell made just one 3-pointer on 11 attempts and was 23 of 49 overall for 46.9 percent.

The Wildcats took advantage of 17 turnovers by Campbell and also had a 38-27 rebounding edge.

Davidson's Jack Gibbs hit a 3-pointer for the first points of the game and the Wildcats never trailed. A 13-0 run in the first half put Davidson up 26-8 and it led by 20 at halftime. A 10-0 run early in the second half put the game away.
