Davidson leads early, beats Charlotte 92-86

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Tyler Kalinoski scored 19 points - all in the second half - to lead four other Wildcats in double figures, and Davidson's hot shooting helped propel it past Charlotte 92-86 on Wednesday night.

Davidson (5-1) shot 58.2 percent from the field and made 14-of-30 3-pointers. Kalinoski missed both shot attempts in the first half, but shot 7 of 9 in the second. Jordan Barham finished with 16 points, Brian Sullivan added 15 and Jack Gibbs and Peyton Aldridge had 12 and 10, respectively.

Kalinoski knocked down two 3-pointers for the Wildcats and Barham dunked off of Gibbs' assist to make it 75-62 with 8:36 left to play. Davidson took the lead with 14:39 left in the first and held it the rest of the way.

Willie Clayton scored 17 points for the 49ers (4-3), Torin Dorn had 16 and Pierria Henry added 13 with eight assists.
