Brendan McKillop scored 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from behind the arc as Davidson held off Monmouth 69-53 on Monday night.

The Wildcats (3-3) won their 19th consecutive home opener thanks in large part to a 24-for-54 shooting effort (44.4 percent) and 16 Monmouth turnovers.

Davidson scored 14 points off of nine first-half turnovers by the Hawks and ended the half on a 12-4 run to take a 39-29 halftime lead.

Jake Cohen had 10 points and pulled down six second-half rebounds, finishing with nine for the Wildcats.

Davidson led by as many as 18 points, 69-51, with 47 seconds remaining, which marked the largest lead of the season for the Wildcats.

Ed Waite scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Monmouth. Will Campbell added 12 off the bench.
