Dan Patrick and John Calipari were clearly annoyed with each other during Calipari’s appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Thursday, though they don’t want any of us to know it.
We’re well aware that Calipari and Patrick have a long history with each other and love cracking stones. But go ahead and listen to the interview for yourself and see if you think it was “all in good fun.”
On Friday, Calipari came back on Patrick’s show and the two were all chummy. They acted like they were shocked that so many people were talking about their little tiff.
“I had a ball,” Calipari said. “Did I offend you? I hope I did, but did I offend you?”
“Only that I sucked at basketball,” Patrick replied. “That was the only thing that hurt. … Let’s set the record straight. I wasn’t great, but you would have recruited me to UMass had you had the opportunity.”
“I thought you were gonna say Kentucky and I would have busted out laughing,” Calipari shot back.
We don’t doubt that there are no grudges being held, but Calipari got extremely defensive when Patrick asked him a question about platooning players during the NCAA Tournament. That wasn’t one buddy giving another buddy a hard time.
