Craig sparks USC Upstate over Kennesaw State 59-54

Torrey Craig scored 27 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 41 seconds remaining, as South Carolina-Upstate snapped a 13-game losing streak by defeating Kennesaw State 59-54 Monday night.

The Spartans (3-19, 2-10 Atlantic Sun Conference) trailed 52-47 with 4:01 left but tied it on two baskets by Craig, the second a 3-pointer. After USC Upstate went ahead by two, the Owls (5-17, 3-9) tied it at 54 on two Spencer Dixon free throws at the 0:54 mark.

After leading 29-22 at the half, the Spartans' lead reached 10 points, 37-27, at the 17:25 mark of the second half before the Owls started to come back. LaDaris Green, who led Kennesaw State with 15 points and 14 rebounds, started the comeback with a three-point play and a layup, and Dixon gave them a 42-41 lead on a three-point play with 11:36 left.

Markeith Cummings scored 14 points and Dixon 11 for Kennesaw State.
