Cooke has 12 points, Dayton tops New Mexico 64-57

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Charles Cooke had 12 points, six rebounds five assists and three steals to help Dayton top New Mexico 64-57 in a consolation game at the Wooden Legacy tournament on Sunday.

Kyle Davis and Scoochie Smith also added 12 points apiece for the Flyers (4-2).

New Mexico (4-2) took a 57-56 lead with 1:08 left on Tim Williams' layup. Cooke made a pair from the line, and then Davis made a steal and layup to put Dayton up by three. The Lobos then turned it over and were forced to foul, and Ryan Mikesell made a pair for a five-point game. Another Lobo turnover resulted in Davis' dunk for the final margin.

Williams and Elijah Brown had 16 points apiece for New Mexico.
