Columbia hits 14 3s, runs away from Brown 86-65

NEW YORK (AP) Kyle Castlin had 21 points and a career-high nine rebounds as Columbia made 14 3-pointers and pulled away late for an 86-65 win over Brown on Saturday.

The Lions (10-8, 2-2 Ivy League) led 64-63 with 6:44 left before scoring 15 straight and closing the game on a 22-2 run overall. Brown (9-12, 0-4) missed eight of its last nine field-goal attempts.

Maodo Lo added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Luke Petrasek scored 14. Both had three 3-pointers, as did Chris McComber and Steve Frankoski, who both finished with nine points.

Castlin was 2 of 5 from 3-point range and 8 of 13 from the field.

Tavon Blackmon and Cedric Kuakumensah both scored 13 points to lead the Bears. Kuakumensah also had 11 rebounds while JR Hobbie scored 12, Steven Spieth 11 and Rafael Maia 10.
