Columbia bounces back from 1st Ivy loss, tops Brown 77-73
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Grant Mullins scored 25 points, including two free throws with six seconds left to help Columbia bounce back from its first Ivy League loss Friday to earn a 77-73 win over Brown Saturday.
Columbia took a 37-31 lead into the break, but the lead went back and throughout the second half.
Steven Spieth scored on a layup to give Brown a 68-67 lead with 2:03 left, but Chris McComber answered with a 3-pointer to give Columbia back the lead for good. Kyle Haber drilled a 3-pointer with eight seconds left to pull Brown within two, 75-73, but Jason Massey fouled Mullins, who hit both free throws.
Lukas Meisner scored 13 points off the bench and Alex Rosenberg added 12 points for Columbia (15-7, 4-1).
Spieth finished with 21 points to lead Brown (7-13, 2-4). Tavon Blackmon added 14 points and eight assists for the Bears.
