Steve Frankoski scored 19 points and hot-shooting Columbia routed Maryland-Eastern Shore 108-74 Monday night to give coach Kyle Smith his first career victory.

The Lions (1-1) made 38 of 60 shots from the field and quickly put UMES in a hole from which it could not escape. Frankoski got all 19 of his points, including five 3-pointers, during a seven-minute stretch in the first half, which ended with Columbia leading 57-26.

Six Columbia players scored in double figures. Noruwa Agho had 17 points and six assists and Max Craig had a career-best 15 points. Brian Barbour finished with 14 points and five assists. Dyami Starks had 12 points and Asenso Ampim came up one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 11 points.

Dishawn Bradshaw, Hillary Haley and Tyler Hines had 11 points each to pace the Hawks (0-2).
