Colorado State knocks off Missouri State, 76-61

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) J.J. Avila had 21 points and 11 rebounds, John Gillon scored 20 and Colorado State knocked off Missouri State 76-61 Wednesday night to advance in the Great Alaska Shootout.

Colorado State next faces Pacific, which defeated Alaska-Anchorage on Wednesday, in a semifinal game Friday.

The Rams (4-0) used a 13-2 first-half run - including 3-pointers by Daniel Bejarano and Gillon - to build a 13-point advantage and led 29-19 at the break. Missouri State went nearly four minutes without a basket and was 8 of 25 from the floor.

Missouri State (2-2) cut the deficit to five with 12:23 left, but Colorado State went on a 16-4 run sparked by Joe De Ciman's 3-pointer and held off the Bears down the stretch.

Dorrian Williams led Missouri State with 16 points and seven rebounds. Tyler McCullough had 12 points and Shawn Roundtree added 10.
