Pierce Hornung had 10 points and 11 rebounds off the bench Saturday night to lift Colorado State to a 59-56 victory over Wyoming.

In a game that saw seven ties and 14 lead changes, Colorado State (16-7, 6-3 Mountain West) finally gained the upper hand with a 10-2 run early in the second half. That turned a 36-33 deficit into a 43-38 lead with 11:19 remaining, and the Rams never gave it up.

Wyoming (8-15, 1-8), which lost its seventh straight game, stayed close in the final 11 minutes. But every time the Cowboys came close to tying the game, CSU answered with a key basket.

The Cowboys' last gasp came at the buzzer when Francisco Cruz's desperation shot from midcourt fell far short. Cruz scored a career-high 21 points. Amath M'Baye added 13 points and Desmar Jackson 11 for Wyoming.
