The Colorado Buffaloes stayed perfect on the young 2016-17 season on Thursday night, defeating Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 89-70 at the Coors Event Center.

Colorado had five players score in double figures as head coach Tad Boyle put forth a very balanced lineup all night. Senior forward Wesley Gordon added nine rebounds.

In addition to defeating Louisiana-Monroe, the Buffs have had their way with Sacramento State and Seattle. Against Sacramento State, the team sank 13 three-point field goals.

Things will get a little tougher for the Buffs in their next game, however. The team will travel to Brooklyn to face Notre Dame as part of the Legend’s Classic. Though the Irish aren’t ranked in this early season, Mike Brey’s school is fresh off an Elite 8 appearance.

Against Louisiana Monroe, things were never close.

Colorado scored the first eight points of the game and held a 20-6 lead midway through the first half. By halftime, that lead had ballooned to 25 points.

Colorado and Notre Dame will tip off at 5:00 p.m. MST on Monday. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and will be played inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
