Adjehi Baru had his first career double-double and Trent Wiedeman his fourth of the season as College of Charleston coasted to a 63-44 win over cold-shooting Elon on Saturday night.

The Cougars (12-5, 4-2 Southern Conference) held the Phoenix to just seven points in the first 14:28 of the contest. Elon (8-8, 3-2) shot 18.2 percent from the field in the first half (6 of 33), improving to 23.9 percent (16 of 67) overall.

Charleston led 29-19 at the half, and then maintained the double-digit lead while the Phoenix posted their lowest point total since a 55-31 loss to Samford on Dec. 3, 2009.

Baru had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Wiedeman had 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

The Cougars played without guard Anthony Stitt (9.1 points per game) who injured his hand and will be out for six weeks.

Lucas Troutman led Elon with nine points.
