Colgate holds off St. Francis (Pa) 74-66

Brandon James led four players in double figures with 17 points and Colgate defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 74-66 on Wednesday night.

Mike Venezia and Pat Moore each had 13 points, and Mitch Rolls added 12 for the Red Raiders (2-2).

Colgate shot well, especially from 3-point range. The Red Raiders shot a season-best 47.6 percent (10 of 21) from long range. Rolls and Venezia each made three triples.

St. Francis led by as many as nine points in the first half but Colgate made a 14-4 run over the final 6:02 to lead 35-30 at halftime. Colgate never trailed in the second half and made all six of its free throw attempts in the final 38 seconds to preserve the win.

Ollie Jackson scored 19 points, Earl Brown added 12 and Stephon Whyatt had 11 for the Red Flash (0-4), who have lost six straight dating back to last season.
