Coastal Carolina pulls away from Radford, 72-60

RADFORD, Va. (AP) Elijah Wilson scored 19 points and Coastal Carolina won its seventh straight game, 72-60, over Radford on Saturday.

Badou Diagne finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds for Coastal Carolina (15-8, 9-4 Big South), becoming the 21st player in school history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.

After starting 2-4 to open Big South play, the Chanticleers season-long win streak has vaulted them into second place behind UNC Asheville with five games remaining.

Rashun Davis hit four 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead the Highlanders (13-11, 6-6), who have now lost nine straight to Coastal Carolina. Cameron Jones scored 14 with eight boards for Radford.

Coastal Carolina led just 56-51 with four minutes to go but pulled away down the stretch, putting together a 14-6 run highlighted by a 6-for-6 effort at the free-throw line by Shivaughn Wiggins which gave the Chanticleers a 70-57 lead with 1:03 left.
