Anthony Raffa and Chad Gray scored 25 points each for Coastal Carolina in an 89-81 victory over Virginia Military Institute on Thursday night in a Big South tournament semifinal game.
The top-seeded Chanticleers (28-4) will host third-seeded North Carolina-Asheville in the tournament championship on Sunday.
Coastal Carolina outrebounded the Keydets 44-24 and shot 56.4 percent from the field (31 of 55), including making 17 of 26 shots in the second half.
Raffa scored six points to seal it after VMI scored five straight to pull within four, 81-77, with 1:02 left. Raffa, who was 7 of 12 from the floor and 9 of 11 from the foul line made a layup and four straight free throws.
Coastal Carolina made 8 of 18 3-pointers, and VMI 11 of 32.
Austin Kenon was 6 of 10 from long range, finishing with 27 points for the Keydets (18-13). Stan Okoye added 22 points for VMI.
