Coastal Carolina 72, The Citadel 64

Chad Gray scored 27 points and Desmond Holloway had a double-double to lead Coastal Carolina over The Citadel 72-64 on Saturday night.

The Chanticleers (6-2) trailed 33-28 at halftime before shooting 57.1 percent (16 of 28) and going 11 for 13 from the free-throw line (84.6 percent) in the second half in their fourth straight win.

Coastal Carolina trailed 51-45 with 9:49 remaining and Holloway scored six straight to tie it. The Chanticleers then took their first lead since midway through the first half, 59-58, on Holloway's free throws with 5:19 left.

The Bulldogs' Matt Clark made two free throws to cut the deficit to 66-64 with 49 seconds left, but the Chanticleers scored six straight and The Citadel missed three 3-pointers the rest of the way.

Holloway finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Clark had 18 points and Cameron Wells 22 for The Citadel (1-4).
