Cincinnati beats Stony Brook 78-52

CINCINNATI (AP) Shaquille Thomas scored 14 points and Gary Clark added 13 Tuesday night to help lead Cincinnati to a 78-52 win over Stony Brook.

Kevin Johnson added 12 points, and Troy Caupain 10 for the Bearcats (6-1), who outrebounded the Seawolves 32-30 and forced 14 turnovers.

Jameel Warney led Stony Brook (5-3) with 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Carson Puriefoy added 11 points, including two 3-pointers.

Cincinnati used a 10-2 run capped by a jumper by Octavius Ellis to lead 17-8 in the first half, and a 9-3 run to pull ahead 26-13. Quadri Moore hit a jumper and a 3-pointer and Cincinnati led 38-23 at halftime.

The Bearcats opened the second half with a 12-2 run capped by a 3 by Moore to lead 50-27, then ripped a 10-2 run in which Thomas made a dunk and a jumper to lead 56-31.
