Chattanooga beats Jacksonville State 62-52 at Emerald Coast

NICEVILLE, Fla. (AP) Justin Tuoyo scored 14 points and Chattanooga beat Jacksonville State 62-52 in an Emerald Coast Classic consolation game on Saturday.

Tuoyo 6 of 14 from the floor and had two blocks. Dee Oldham and Eric Robertson added 10 points apiece for Chattanooga (5-1). Tre' McLean, who scored a career-high 18 points against Alabama State in a third-round game, did not score on 0-for-3 shooting.

Erik Durham scored 17 points to lead Jacksonville State (3-6), which has lost five of its last six games. Freshman Christian Cunningham added 16 points with 12 rebounds for his first career double-double. Jared Hamilton chipped in 10 points for the Gamecocks.

Chattanooga built a 30-21 halftime lead and Tuoyo converted a 3-point play to give the Mocs a 52-42 lead with 7:50 to play.

The Mocs are 5-0 when leading at halftime.
