Ricky Taylor scored nine of his 11 points in the final 4:53 as Chattanooga defeated Western Carolina 67-65 in a Southern Conference game on Saturday.

Keegan Bell led the Mocs (4-5, 2-0) with 13 points and Chris Early had 12. They combined with Taylor to go 17 of 19 from the free-throw line, including 9 of 10 in the final minute.

Chattanooga was 26 of 37 overall at the line for the game, to 14 of 26 for the Catamounts (4-6, 0-2).

Mike Williams scored 21 points and Keaton Cole 17 for Western Carolina. Cole hit a pair of 3-pointers early in the second half, when the Catamounts used a 14-3 burst to take a 30-26 lead after trailing 23-16 at halftime.

Troy Cage scored all five of his points for Chattanooga during a 16-4 run that gave the Mocs a 46-38 lead with 8:30 remaining.

Tawaski King added 12 rebounds and nine points for Western Carolina.
