Charleston squeaks by George Mason 61-60

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) Adjehi Baru made 1 of 2 free throws with 19 seconds remaining to help the College of Charleston beat George Mason 61-60 on Sunday in the seventh-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Baru's basket at the 2:28 mark gave Charleston a 60-56 lead. George Mason's Marquise Moore hit two free throws with 1:24 left and his layup tied it at 60. Baru hit the first of two free throws and Charleston's Vaughn Gray had a 3-pointer rim out at the buzzer.

Canyon Barry's 3-pointer gave Charleston a 56-46 lead with 10:19 left, but the Cougars only made one field goal the rest of the way.

Barry led Charleston (2-3) with 17 points, on 6-of-13 shooting. Cameron Johnson had 13, and Donovan Gilmore and Baru added 10 apiece.

George Mason (1-4) was paced by Shevon Thompson with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Patrick Holloway and Trey Porter had 11 each, and Moore added 10.
