Charleston Southern blows past Erskine 92-50

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Paul Gombwer scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Will Saunders added 17 points and eight rebounds and Charleston Southern beat NAIA Erskine 92-50 on Monday night.

Aaron Wheeler added 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and Cedric Bowen scored 10 points in the win.

Charleston Southern (2-0) jumped all over Erskine, taking a 40-6 lead with just fewer than 7 minutes left in the first half.

Erskine made just 15 of 51 (29.4 percent) field goals, including 4 of 19 from 3-point range, while Charleston Southern shot 58.5 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent (11 of 27) from behind the arc.

Maurice Daniels and Aaron Brown scored 11 points apiece for Erskine, which committed 19 turnovers.

Charleston Southern out-rebounded Erskine 49-25 and turned 14 offensive rebounds into 22 second-chance points.
