Trey Zeigler scored 19 points and Central Michigan beat Toledo 85-69 on Saturday in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams.

Austin McBroom had 16 points, Derek Jackson scored 14 and Andre Coimbra contributed 10 points as the Chippewas (6-8), playing their first game since a loss at Wright State on Dec. 22, snapped a three-game losing streak.

Toledo (8-7) also had four players in double figures. Rian Pearson had 20 points plus a game-high eight rebounds, Curtis Dennis had 19, Reese Holiday had 11 points and DeLino Dear scored 10.

The Rockets' only lead was in the first 15 seconds, on Holiday's two free throws. Central Michigan scored the next nine points and led 46-36 at halftime.
