CCSU 78, Wagner 61
Ken Horton scored 22 points and Kyle Vinales added 21 for Central Connecticut State in a 78-61 win over Wagner on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Robby Ptacek finished with 16 points and David Simmons 10 for the Blue Devils (13-15, 10-8 Northeast Conference), who won three of four games to finish up the season. This win avenged a loss at Wagner, which finished in second place in the conference, on Jan. 14.
The Blue Devils have qualified for a 14th straight NEC tournament, which is the longest active streak in the league. They got out in front early in this one, building a 15-point halftime lead and then outscoring the Seahawks 43-41 in the second to seal it.
CCSU outshot Wagner 55.3 percent (26 of 47) to 38 percent (19 of 50).
Latif Rivers led Wagner (24-5, 15-3) with 16 points and Jonathon Williams had 12.
