Trey Freeman scored 20 points and Campbell rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to beat East Carolina 76-74 Monday night, matching the largest comeback to in coach Robbie Laing's nine seasons.

The Camels (2-0) trailed 32-17 with 8:07 left before halftime. After getting to 51-45 with 15:57 remaining, the Pirates (1-1) scored the next seven points.

Campbell finally tied it at 64 with 6:09 left on a Marvelle Harris layup and opened up a seven-point lead. East Carolina fought back to tie it at 73 with 28 seconds to play.

Anthony Horton made two free throws for the Camels and Rico Ferguson hit the first of two foul shots with 5.7 seconds on the clock.

Miguel Paul, who led the Pirates with 20 points, drove the length of the floor and dished to Paris Roberts-Campbell in the right corner, but his 3 attempt at the buzzer bounced off the rim.
