Campbell 72, High Point 62
Darren White scored 28 points and Trey Freeman added 15 to help Campbell beat High Point 72-62 on Saturday.
Campbell (7-1, 2-0 Big South Conference) trailed 53-51 before a Marvelle Harris dunk tied the game and a White layup gave the Camels a 55-53 lead with 5:47 left in the second half. High Point pulled within one, 60-59, but White would hit two free throws to spark a 13-2 run over the final 3:29.
Freeman knocked down two free throws with 34 seconds left to seal the victory.
After being outscored 31-29 and shooting 35.7 percent (10 for 28) in the first half, Campbell turned it around in the second half, outscoring High Point 43-31 and shooting 51.9 percent (14 of 27) from the field.
The Camels scored 14 fast break points compared to zero for the Panthers.
Corey Law led High Point (2-5, 0-1) with 21 points.
