Callandret leads Idaho past Portland State 80-74

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Perrion Callandret scored 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting to lead Idaho past Portland State for an 80-74 win Thursday night.

Chad Sherwood added 15 points and Nate Sherwood had 13 for Idaho, which shot 46 percent from the field and 8 of 14 from 3-point range to win its third straight game.

The Vandals (17-10, 9-5 Big Sky) took the lead for good with a 6-0 spurt capped by Chad Sherwood's 3-pointer to make it 52-46 with 13:05 left. Callandret's jumper with 2:03 to go gave Idaho its biggest lead of the game, 73-61, and the Vandals held off a final Portland State surge.

The Vikings (8-16, 4-9) got a 3-pointer at the buzzer from Cameron Forte.

Forte finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead Portland State and Zach Gengler added 15 points.
