Shawn Lewis scored 11 points to help boost Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo to a 55-48 victory over Loyola Marymount on Wednesday night.
Drake U'u and Chris O'Brien helped out with 10 points apiece for the Mustangs (2-2) while David Hanson pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Mustangs led by as many as 16 points late in the second half, but the Lions (2-4) went on a 16-2 tear to pull within 49-47 with 47 seconds left.
Jordan Lewis, Shawn Lewis and Hanson each made a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to widen Cal Poly's lead. The Lions managed just one free throw by Vernon Teel in that span.
Jarred DuBois led the Lions with 12 points while Drew Viney added 10.
