Cal Poly-SLO 48, UC Davis 43
Cal Poly won for the second straight time scoring less than 50 points, beating UC Davis 48-43 Saturday night.
The Mustangs (6-8, 2-1 Big West), who were coming off a 43-39 victory at Pacific, got 10 points and 12 rebounds from Will Donahue. Shawn Lewis added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Eddie Miller had 15 points and Joe Harden 13 for UC Davis (6-10, 1-3), which scored a season low.
Cal Poly came into the game with the No. 1 scoring defense (59.1 points per game) in the Big West, and held the Aggies to 31 percent field goal shooting. Cal Poly was also ranked No. 4 in the nation in 3-point field goal defense, and limited UC Davis to 3 of 18 shooting from long range. The Aggies had been averaging 7.8 3-pointers per game.
The Mustangs struggled offensively as well, shooting 33 percent from the field, 3 of 12 on 3-point attempts and 11 of 19 from the free-throw line.
