Shelvin Mack scored 28 points and Butler rallied in the second half to defeat Youngstown State 84-79 Sunday.

Matt Howard added 26 points for the Bulldogs (12-5, 4-1 Horizon), who won their 10th straight against the Penguins.

Blake Allen scored 17 points and Ashen Ward had 15 for Youngstown State (6-9, 1-5), which lost its third in a row and fell to 0-8 on the road this season.

Tied at 79, Andrew Smith scored on a tip-in with 1 minute left, and Mack then hit three free throws to give Butler its eighth win in its last nine games.

Down 61-53 with 12:05 to play, the Bulldogs outscored the Penguins 16-2 over the next four minutes to surge ahead. After four lead changes, Youngstown State's Devonte Maymon completed a three-point play to tied it at 79 with 1:24 remaining, setting the stage for Smith's game-winning basket.
