Bucknell pulls away from Holy Cross 70-57

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) John Azzinaro led a balanced attack with 14 points and Bucknell used a 10-2 surge late in the second half to pull away for a 70-57 win over Holy Cross on Sunday.

Zach Thomas added 12 points and 11 rebounds and Ryan Frazier and Chris Hass had 11 apiece for the Bison (13-12, 8-4 Patriot League), who remained tied with Colgate for the league lead by ending a two-game losing streak.

Malcolm Miller had 12 points and Malachi Alexander 11 and both had eight rebounds for the Crusaders (9-13, 4-8), who won the first meeting 65-62 in overtime.

Holy Cross made 6 of 18 3-pointers but shot just 30.6 percent overall and was 21-34 from the foul line.

Bucknell made just 3 of 13 treys but shot 46.7 percent overall and was 25 of 35 from the foul line, 22-26 in the second half. Thomas went 10-12 from the line.
