Bryson Johnson scored 30 points and Bucknell needed overtime to clinch at least a tie for the Patriot League regular-season championship in a 74-69 victory over Lafayette Wednesday night.

The Bison (19-8, 10-1) led by 11 with 4:35 left in regulation after Mike Muscala's jumper. But Bucknell didn't score again until overtime, as Johnson missed a 3-pointer at the end of regulation.

The Leopards (10-16, 5-6) extended their 14-0 spurt into overtime, briefly claiming a 64-61 lead. But Johnson answered with three free throws to tie it and then Enoch Andoh and Darryl Shazier took over. They combined for eight of the 13 overtime points, and Andoh's jumper gave Bucknell the lead for good 66-64 with 2:51 left in the extra period.

Bucknell needed American to lose to Army, which didn't happen, to claim the Patriot League title.
