Bryant rallies, beats LIU-Brooklyn 87-79

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Dyami Starks and Alex Francis combined for 47 points and Bryant erased a 10 point halftime deficit in beating LIU-Brooklyn 87-79 on Thursday night.

Starks entered the game with 991 points and joined the 1,000 point club for Bryant just past the midway point of his junior season. Starks logged 23 points, while Francis added 24 points and 11 rebounds.

LIU-Brooklyn (6-12, 1-4 Northeast) led the Bulldogs by 10 at the break, powered by a 13-4 run that ended with a Glenn Feidanga layup with 4:11 remaining.

Bryant (12-8, 4-1) powered back in the second half on an 11-0 run and the Bulldogs led 53-51 with 13:39 remaining. Later, Francis ran off nine points while the Blackbirds managed just three and Bryant led 73-66 going into the final stretch. Brooklyn failed to respond and Bryant cruised to the victory.

Landon Atterberry scored 18 for LIU-Brooklyn. Jason Brickman added 13 assists.
