Brown rolls over D-III Lyndon State 88-42

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Leland Kind scored 19 points and Brown had no problem rolling over Division III member Lyndon State College 88-42.

JR Hobbie drilled a 3-pointer 48 seconds in for the first bucket of the game and Brown (8-8) never trailed. A 12-0 run midway through the half put Brown up 25-8 and the Bears led 44-19 at intermission.

Leland King made a layup and 3-pointer on the first two possessions of the second half to extend Brown's lead to 30 points.

King finished with 19 points, on 7-of-8 shooting, with a career-high 16 rebounds. Hobbie and Steven Spieth had 12 points apiece and Tavon Blackman added 11 points and five assists. Brown outrebounded the smaller Hornets 59-28 and blocked nine shots. Brown shot 50 percent and was 13 of 31 (42 percent) from beyond the arc.

David Johnson paced Lyndon State was 18 points.
