Brooks scores 20 as Cal State Fullerton beats Seattle 70-61

SEATTLE (AP) Malcolm Brooks scored 20 points as Cal State Fullerton used a strong second half to defeat Seattle 70-61 on Friday night.

Khalil Ahmad had 13 points and Lionheart Leslie added 12 for Cal State Fullerton (6-1).

Brooks' 3-pointer at the start of the second half broke a 20-all tie and gave the Titans a lead they would never surrender. Another Brooks 3 with 8:50 left in the game increased the lead to 44-37.

Brooks hit another 3 and Leslie followed with a layup with 5: 55 left to make the score 54-39. Brooks shot 6 of 9 from behind the 3-point arc. His teammates only shot 3 for 13 from 3-point range.

The Titans are off to their best start since the 2006-07 season, when they posted 20 wins that year.

Seattle (2-5) was led by Brendan Westendorf's 13 points while Jack Crook finished with 11 and 12 rebounds.
