Bowling Green 76, FIU 67
Dee Brown scored 24 points and Danny McElroy added 15 as Bowling Green ended a seven-game losing streak with a 76-67 win over Florida International on Sunday.
The Falcons (2-8) led 23-15 with 7:54 left in the opening half, but a 15-6 run capped by a layup from Eric Frederick gave FIU a 30-29 lead. The score was tied at 35 entering halftime.
Ferguson scored 17 of his 19 points in the first half for the Golden Panthers (4-5).
Bowling Green pulled ahead 49-39 after a layup from A'uston Calhoun with 11:40 remaining. The Golden Panthers scored five straight and eight of the next 10 points to pull within four, 51-47, but that was as close as they would get.
Marvin Roberts scored 20 of his team-leading 24 points in the second half. DeJuan Wright added 12 points and nine rebounds for FIU, which shot 9 for 25 in the second half (36 percent), including 0 for 8 from 3-point range.
