Boston University cruises to 86-69 win over LIU Brooklyn

BOSTON (AP) Cedric Hankerson sank five 3-pointers and had 19 points to lead Boston University in an 86-69 win over LIU Brooklyn on Sunday.

Nick Havener scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for BU (3-1), while Eric Fanning and Cheddi Mosely also had 13 points apiece. The Terriers hit 51 percent from the floor, including 13 of 30 from long range, and had 20 assists.

The Terriers never trailed, opening with a 13-4 run capped by the first of Tyler Scanlon's two 3-pointers and stretched the margin to a 44-28 advantage at the break.

Late in the second half, Fanning hit a 3-pointer with 5:23 left to give BU its largest lead of the game, 83-59, and the Terriers held off the Blackbirds down the stretch.

Jashaun Agosto led LIU Brooklyn with 15 points and Jerome Frink had 14.
