John Holland scored 17 points and Boston University defeated New Hampshire 69-60 on Saturday night in the quarterfinals of the America East Conference tournament.

The Terriers (19-13) fell behind 12-3 in the opening minutes after missing six of their first seven field-goal attempts, but outscored the Wildcats 26-9 over the next 12-plus minutes to take a 29-21 lead.

Tyrone Conley hit a 3-pointer with less than 15 minutes to play, pulling New Hampshire (12-18) within one, 39-38, but that was as close as the Wildcats would get.

Conley finished with 16 points, Chandler Rhoads added 15 and Jordon Bronner 13 for New Hampshire, which shot 33.3 percent from the floor (10 of 30) in the second half.

Darryl Partin and D.J. Irving each added 11 points and Patrick Hazel grabbed 10 rebounds for the Terriers, who posted a 38-18 scoring edge in the paint.
