The Rockets surged to a 47-38 lead in the final six minutes of the first half on a 16-7 run. Ball State swiftly cut the gap to 47-46, holding Toledo scoreless for two-and-a-half minutes of the second half, but Boothe nailed a 3 and a jumper and Navigato added a trey and the Rockets had a 56-46 lead and led by double-digits most of the final 15 minutes.
