EDINBURG, Texas (AP) Shaquille Boga scored 16 points Thursday night and hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left in overtime for Texas-Pan American to defeat Chicago State 71-68.

UTPA (7-19, 3-8 Western Athletic Conference) worked the ball around the perimeter to create an open look for Boga's game-winning 3.

Chicago State then ran the clock down for a final shot. Quinton Pippen bobbled the ball, but gathered it back only to miss a 3-point attempt from the top of the key.

CSU had pulled even for the third time in overtime at 68-68 on Clarke Rosenberg's layup with 42 seconds left. The Cougars had a 61-56 lead with 2:23 left in regulation before UTPA scored the final five points to force overtime.
