Boeheim's daughter heckled at high school playoff game

It isn't always easy being the child of a sports figure. Sometimes it can get ugly.

And there are times the child gets to shut the critics up.

That's exactly what Jamesville-DeWitt freshman Jamie Boeheim —€“ as in the daughter of Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim —€“ did on Friday night.

Jamie Beoheim's team was in the process of taking down top-ranked Alberto Magnus in a New York Class-A girls semifinal.

When she entered the game in the final quarter, the Magnus student section welcomed her with a "Where's the cheater?" chant.

Classy.

Of course, the Magnus students were feeding off the recent troubles of the Syracuse athletic program. Much of the focus is on the basketball program, coached by Jim Boeheim.

Jamie Boeheim was able to stifle the critics, quickly, scoring a basket in front of her mom Juli. Her dad was not at the game.

"I just try and block out everything," she told Syracuse.com after the 56-33 romp, adding that she knew she was being taunted but didn't hear the specifics. "I'm a Boeheim so I'm expecting some, but I just ignore it."
